Annnnnnnd...THAT RIGHT THERE is how it's done folks. This letter should IMMEDIATELY be forwarded to EVERY school district/system in the country, as well as every newspaper and media outlet. Flood their inboxes. There are more of "us," that them.

Yes, even Faux News, Washington Examiner, et al. No, they won't report or print it, but we don't want to leave the little MAGAt snowflakes feeling they're being ignored, marginalized, or left out, now do we?

Who was the School District Superintendent that sent this?

What a great comeback! What parent wouldn’t want their kid in that school? Best of luck

That letter needs to be shared with a few white-shoe law firms too.

None of which could have written it with a fraction of the efficacy. Cowardice and literary skill seem to be inversely proportioned.

Mic drop. That was absolutely amazing. I have forwarded to the educators that I know. It is shameful how they are trying to dismantle the educational system.

I am a retired teacher. I was just about in tears when I finished the letter. I wish she had been my superintendent, and my children’s. That letter is what education needs to be. And it’s also why the current administration wants to destroy schools. Informed citizens are the bedrock of democracy.

I was thinking the same thing! If that was my superintendent, I would probably still be in the classroom. This truly should be in every editorial section of news everywhere.

Students are not numbers or statistics. Neither are their teachers or parents.

I am also a retired teacher and in special education so this also means a lot to me!! I would have loved to have her for my superintendent. Their district has to be proud!

It’s a brilliant letter, but knowing it’s a real response from a real superintendent would magnify its impact tenfold. Who wrote it?

I wish I knew but they published it anonymously and haven’t been identified.

Unfortunately publicly identifying either the superintendent or the district could put lives in danger. MAGAts seek revenge, justified or not. But I fear if it goes viral, s/he will be ratted out. No one has more blood lust than Donnie.

As in, you have no idea if this was actually written by a school superintendent? Something is seriously off here.

I think the letter addresses what is off pretty succinctly.

No, seriously, who is the recipient? What evidence is there that it was received? Are there links to contemporaneous reports of this letter from news outlets?

Michael, your skepticism is fair — in a perfect world, every bold statement would come with names, dates, and a document trail. But in this case, the content and clarity of the letter speak to a lived reality that many educators recognize immediately. The risk of retaliation for speaking out — especially under the current political climate — is very real. That’s likely why the superintendent chose anonymity.

There are precedents for anonymous or pseudonymous public letters that catalyze real movements, especially when institutions are involved. The fact that this letter resonated with so many educators, parents, and advocates is telling in itself.

As for corroboration: while I haven’t seen mainstream press coverage yet (which might change), the conversation the letter sparked — and the fear around what prompted it — reflects the deeply felt tension in education right now. Sometimes the existence of a message, and the need for it, is its own kind of evidence.

BRAVO, District Superintendent. 👏👏You’ve just crafted the template for any school district intent on not bowing before Tyrant Trump (and his dutiful minions)

If everybody stood up to this bully he would fold like a piece of paper and not the beautiful origami kind. When institutions fold, that gives this monster power. Looking at you ABC and the rest of corporate media, all those law firms, schools like Columbia U. Thanks for nothing. But thank you so much, Superintendent because you are not just standing up for those kids, you are standing up for all of us. And we are behind you 100%. In the streets as was seen on April 5th and we better get out April 19th, May 1st and every day and ,if we will still be able to vote, at the ballot box. We all need to fight against this evilness.

Beautiful letter written with integrity and honesty. Please keep standing up for our children who sometimes can’t literally stand up for themselves.

As a special Ed provider for over 30 years this attack on our students breaks my heart.

All of the schools and universities across the country need to have every Superintendent sign this letter. The ones who cave to this authoritarian government will not only lose, but they will make it harder for the ones who are standing up for what’s right.
