Getting more folks to recognize what is unfolding in plain sight is difficult. This country is just 6 states away from invoking Article 5 via convention. It looks and feels like Erdoğan's playbook.
I watched a short video on threads from a political activist (whom I can't remember because, of course) which prompted an online search. The six states info comes from CommonCause.org, however ConventionofStates.com shows 40 states that are currently in process of passing the resolution, with only 19 having completed the process. Where it gets interesting for me is that the state resolutions are for varying amendment subjects over a wide period of time, but when an article 5 convention is called it is not limited to only the subject(s) upon which the resolutions are based. From what I understand, not being a constitutional scholar, any amendment can be up for ratification as opposed to a congressional process, which would be topic specific. If that is the case then scary things could happen to our constitution if ultra MAGA conservatives hold any sort of majority in the ratification process. This sounds extreme and perhaps a little tinfoil-hatish, but then so much of what is happening now reads like a conspiracy theorist fever dream.
